Plant 4,550 native trees around the Sycamore canal in Zagazig
Help us clean and replant the Sycamore canal before the June planting window closes.
🇪🇬 Egypt1,578 views
The Sycamore canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This March, 119 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 55 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $350 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $250
• Tools and protective gear: $45
• Waste removal and skip hire: $55
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

best of luck, Lina. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Take care
stay strong. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Sending strength, Lina. This could happen to any of us. Love from George.
