Plant 3,350 native trees around the Baobab canal in León
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Baobab canal needs $400 for saplings and equipment.

The Baobab canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This April, 46 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 177 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $400 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $200
• Tools and protective gear: $135
• Signage and educational materials: $65
With deep gratitude,
Lucía

how is Lucía doing now?
Hope things get better soon, Lucía. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to Lagos so I could bring a meal. Greetings from San Jose
You're not alone, Lucía. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier
Best of luck. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
