Plant 2,700 native trees around the Acacia canal in Cầu Giấy
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Acacia canal needs $400 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world879 views
The Acacia canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 56 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 62 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $400 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $220
• Tools and protective gear: $105
• Waste removal and skip hire: $45
• Signage and educational materials: $30
I hope life is good to you.

Sending strength. Your post was clear and honest. Sent it to 37 people at work. All the best.
Thinking of you and your family, Huyền. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
Sending strength, Huyền. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Thessaloniki this morning. Thinking of Cầu Giấy.
