Plant 1,150 native trees around Acacia Creek in Mbale
Help us clean and replant Acacia Creek before the July planting window closes.
🇺🇬 Uganda619 views
Acacia Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This May, 58 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 71 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $175
• Tools and protective gear: $25
• Waste removal and skip hire: $30
• Signage and educational materials: $20
Every share and every dollar helps.

Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 21 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
praying for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.
