Paul's final semester of a degree in civil engineering in Embakasi
Paul has worked and saved for five years to study a degree in civil engineering; a $850 gap now stands between him and graduation.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in civil engineering at Embakasi State College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Embakasi State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $850 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $260
• Final term tuition: $510
• Exam and lab fees: $40
• Textbooks and materials: $40
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hope things get better soon, Paul. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Bang Khen this morning. Thinking of Embakasi
