Otávio was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in January. The oncology team at São Paulo Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Otávio is 56, worked as a bakery worker until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to São Paulo Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $2,350 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200 • Scans and lab work: $360 • Transport to São Paulo Cancer Centre: $340 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $140 • Household costs while unable to work: $310 I hope life is good to you.
