Tommaso is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a teaching qualification at Verona Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,600. The registrar has said Tommaso can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Tommaso has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Tommaso would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Tommaso isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $3,600 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,750 • Final term tuition: $1,650 • Exam and lab fees: $105 • Textbooks and materials: $95 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Veronica

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Tommaso?

Thank you. If you're in Verona I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great.

Wishing you peace, Veronica. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Verona.

      • Ravi E. BhardwajQuestion

What's already covered and what's the $3,600 for?

        • Veronica CostaOwnerAnswer

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. outstanding tuition balance comes first ($1,750) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
