Ruth is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an agriculture degree at San Jose State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,800.
The registrar has said Ruth can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ruth has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ruth would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Ruth isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the San Jose State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $5,800 goes:
• Final term tuition: $3,800
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,750
• Textbooks and materials: $250
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope things get better soon. Hope this works out for you. I hope November is when things finally get easier. All the best
Keep going, Brian. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
Thanks for sharing this, Brian. Shared this with my family. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too!
Hope things get better soon. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Odesa
