Paloma has worked and saved for four years to study an electrical engineering diploma; a $2,800 gap now stands between her and graduation.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an electrical engineering diploma at the San Jose Institute of Technology, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $2,800.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the San Jose Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,300
• Exam and lab fees: $320
• Textbooks and materials: $180
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Austin
Sending strength. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Québec.
