Kiptoo is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in social work at Embakasi State College, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $550.
The registrar has said Kiptoo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Kiptoo has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Kiptoo would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Kiptoo isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Embakasi State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $550 goes:
• Final term tuition: $210
• Textbooks and materials: $45
• Outstanding tuition balance: $295
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Praying for you. Hope you get there. After 19 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Wishing you peace, Tabitha. Study hard! God bless
Sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Embakasi.
Hang in there, Tabitha. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn.
