I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a master's in public health at the Lalitpur Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a barista to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $650.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a first-class average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $290
• Final term tuition: $310
• Textbooks and materials: $50
With deep gratitude,
Indira

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Indira
Outstanding tuition balance is $290 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Appreciate you taking the time.
I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from London!
stay strong, Indira. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Lalitpur
