I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a computer science degree at Leicester Community College, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $3,600. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a first-class average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Leicester Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $3,600 goes: • Final term tuition: $2,700 • Outstanding tuition balance: $690 • Exam and lab fees: $210 Thanks for reading all this. - Dennis

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($1,389 in total) the plan for outstanding tuition balance is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($964 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Hang in there. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My husband and I read this together.
