Chioma is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a teaching qualification at Lagos Community College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $350. The registrar has said Chioma can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Chioma has a 3.6 average, and an academic advisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Chioma would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Chioma isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $350 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $20 • Outstanding tuition balance: $280 • Exam and lab fees: $50 Thanks for reading all this.

    • Take care. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.
