My tuk-tuk: Zinhle's only way to earn a living
Without my tuk-tuk Zinhle can't work; a $450 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 5 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $450. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $450 goes:
• engine head gasket replacement (parts): $330
• Labor charges: $45
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $45
• Towing and inspection: $30
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Stay strong, Zinhle. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Ottawa.
You're not alone, Zinhle. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.
You're not alone, Zinhle. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Sent it to 8 people at work. All the best.
