My tuk-tuk: Guadalupe's only way to earn a living
Guadalupe drives for a living in San Diego, and a broken radiator and cooling system has stopped all income for 6 weeks.
🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States953 views
I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 6 weeks ago the radiator and cooling system failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,550. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• radiator and cooling system replacement (parts): $1,000
• Labor charges: $190
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $220
• Towing and inspection: $140
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Wish I lived closer to Los Angeles so I could bring a meal. Take care!
Good luck, Guadalupe. Small businesses are the heart of San Diego. Hope you're open again soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
hope you make a strong comeback. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless.
