My taxi: Melanie's only way to earn a living
Without my taxi Melanie can't work; a $1,500 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my taxi. 10 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,500. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my 3 children. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• gearbox replacement (parts): $1,000
• Labor charges: $220
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $125
• Towing and inspection: $155
I hope life is good to you.

Take care, Melanie. Small businesses are the heart of Cardiff. Hope you're open again soon. After 14 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings
Stay strong. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update!
