My taxi: Mega's only way to earn a living
Mega drives for a living in Jakarta, and a broken gearbox has stopped all income for 12 weeks.

I make my living with my taxi. 12 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $215. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $215 goes:
• gearbox replacement (parts): $115
• Labor charges: $60
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $35
• Towing and inspection: $5
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

how is Mega doing now?
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Jakarta.
Sending good thoughts, Mega. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Berlin
I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Take care!
