I make my living with my ride-share car. 12 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $400. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $400 goes: • Road tax and insurance renewal: $75 • transmission replacement (parts): $310 • Towing and inspection: $15 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Onur

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Onur.

    • Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. road tax and insurance renewal comes first ($75) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.

  • Small businesses are the heart of Istanbul. Hope you're open again soon. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

      • Hope things get better soon, Onur. Hope this works out for you. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out.

        • You're not alone. Hope the shop reopens soon. Greetings from Nnewi
