My ride-share car: Aminata's only way to earn a living

Without my ride-share car Aminata can't work; a $1,100 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my ride-share car. 7 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,100. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $1,100 goes: • transmission replacement (parts): $610 • Labor charges: $230 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $180 • Towing and inspection: $80 If you're reading this, thank you.
