My food truck: Wanjiru's only way to earn a living
Without my food truck Wanjiru can't work; a $100 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my food truck. 10 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $100. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $100 goes:
• Towing and inspection: $20
• Labor charges: $45
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $35
Thanks for reading all this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Wanjiru
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. towing and inspection comes first ($20) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
So sorry you're going through this, Wanjiru. Hope the shop reopens soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Bacolod.
