My food truck: Kyung-mi's only way to earn a living
Without my food truck Kyung-mi can't work; a $1,950 repair would put her back on the road.
🇺🇸 United States2,234 views
I make my living with my food truck. 6 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,950. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• engine head gasket replacement (parts): $1,350
• Labor charges: $270
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $150
• Towing and inspection: $180
Glad we found this place.

Hang in there, Kyung-mi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from Buenos Aires.
Small businesses are the heart of San Diego. Hope you're open again soon. We're a small family in Jakarta but we're thinking of you
Sending good thoughts, Kyung-mi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
this could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of San Diego.
keep going, Kyung-mi. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Blessings.
