My food truck: Brett's only way to earn a living
Brett drives for a living in Sandton, and a broken rear axle has stopped all income for 5 weeks.
🇿🇦 Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa1,214 views
I make my living with my food truck. 5 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $500. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $500 goes:
• rear axle replacement (parts): $400
• Labor charges: $50
• Towing and inspection: $50
Every share and every dollar helps.
