My delivery van: Alexa's only way to earn a living
Alexa drives for a living in Liverpool, and a broken rear axle has stopped all income for 12 weeks.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom1,610 views
I make my living with my delivery van. 12 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• rear axle replacement (parts): $720
• Labor charges: $290
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $210
• Towing and inspection: $80
Thanks for reading all this.

Wishing you the best, Alexa. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
Take care, Alexa. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Liverpool.
Wishing you peace, Alexa. Hope the shop reopens soon. After 6 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Liverpool.
Hope things get better soon. Hope this works out for you. We're a small family in Ikeja but we're thinking of you.
