Mustafa was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in June. The oncology team at the Berlin Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Mustafa is 46, worked as a nurse until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Berlin Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
