Montréal house fire that spread across the block relief - the Marketplace settlement
Neighbors in the Marketplace settlement are rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Marketplace settlement on 6 August. My home was one of 15 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $5,500 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,650
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $860
• Clean water and purification supplies: $990
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

So sorry you're going through this, Arianna. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 25 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
hope it all works out, Arianna. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Madrid.
Great idea, hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Oaxaca de Juárez so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Bowling Green
Sending strength, Arianna. I hope things turn around soon. Sent it to 37 people at work.
