Kinondoni
Nakato lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at Kinondoni General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750. Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Nakato could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $750 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $35 • powered wheelchair: $670 • First-year servicing plan: $45 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
