I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Utrecht Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,900. My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $6,900 goes: • pair of hearing aids: $6,250 • Fitting and training sessions: $185 • Delivery and set-up: $75 • First-year servicing plan: $390 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
