I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in civil engineering at București University, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,750. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $1,750 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $75 • Outstanding tuition balance: $860 • Final term tuition: $815 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Mihai

Updates from Mihai

  1. Update from București: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 44% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Update from București: I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. We're at 40% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($326 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
