Mia's final semester of a degree in social work in Bakersfield
Mia has worked and saved for five years to study a degree in social work; a $4,900 gap now stands between her and graduation.

Mia is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Bakersfield State College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,900.
The registrar has said Mia can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Mia has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Mia would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Mia isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Bakersfield State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
