Mental health support for Yashodha after bullying at school
A course of a structured recovery program for Yashodha could change everything; the cost is $400.
🇱🇰 Sri Lanka501 views
After bullying at school, Yashodha has struggled with anxiety, sleep and panic attacks. The doctor has referred her to a structured recovery program, but the public waiting list is 6 months, and private sessions at the Jaffna Counselling Collective cost $15 each.
Yashodha has been honest with her employer and taken some time off, but can't keep going without support.
Therapy has already helped a little in the sessions Yashodha could afford. The therapist recommends 24 weekly sessions, and consistent help will make the difference.
Asking for help with this has been the hardest part for Yashodha, and we're grateful for your kindness without judgment.
Funds cover only therapy sessions, and I'll share progress updates (not private details) if I'm comfortable.
Where the $400 goes:
• 24 therapy sessions: $360
• Psychiatric assessment: $30
• Workbook and resources: $10
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
Updates from Anoma
Good news. Because of your gifts ($77 in total) I made the first payment toward psychiatric assessment. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Yashodha.
24 therapy sessions is $360 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.
Hang in there, Anoma. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Edinburgh so I could bring a meal. All the best.
