Masud is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a law degree at the Dhaka Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650.
The registrar has said Masud can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Masud has a 3.6 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Masud would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Masud isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $360
• Final term tuition: $230
• Exam and lab fees: $25
• Textbooks and materials: $35
