Marcos is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at Savannah State College, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,050.
The registrar has said Marcos can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Marcos has a distinction average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Marcos would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Marcos isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
