Madeline was diagnosed with colon cancer in May. The oncology team at Bakersfield Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Madeline is 32, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bakersfield Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,450
• Scans and lab work: $1,550
• Transport to Bakersfield Regional Medical Center: $870
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $700
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,230
