Lucas is a single parent of a toddler and a seven-year-old - help us after the death of my husband

Lucas and a toddler and a seven-year-old need a bridge to stability after the death of my husband.

Since the death of my husband in July, I'm now raising a toddler and a seven-year-old on my own. I work as a cleaner, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries. I'm retraining as a web developer in the evenings, which will triple my income by October, but I need to bridge the gap until then. Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them. Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward. Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown. Where the $700 goes: • Course fees and exam costs: $110 • Rent top-up: $260 • Groceries and school meals: $330 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Lucas

Updates from Lucas

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 6% funded and the plan for course fees and exam costs is now scheduled.

  2. We're at 5% thanks to 2 of you. I made the first payment toward rent top-up. More news soon.
