Lilian needs a commercial oven to reopen a neighborhood bakery
Lilian lost a commercial oven to a storm that collapsed the roof and needs $250 to reopen a neighborhood bakery and support the family.

For nine years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Kano. In June, a storm that collapsed the roof took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $250 goes:
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $100
• Working capital for the first month: $45
• Shop repairs and licensing: $105
I hope life is good to you.

small businesses are the heart of Kano. Hope you're open again soon. We're a small family in Glasgow but we're thinking of you.
hang in there, Lilian. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Hope it all works out, Lilian. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update. Blessings.
hang in there, Lilian. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
Sending strength, Lilian. Small businesses are the heart of Kano. Hope you're open again soon. I hope October is when things finally get easier
