Let's build a youth football pitch together in Dar es Salaam

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 398 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Materials: $210 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Kato
