Wollongong
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,500. It will serve about 442 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,500 goes: • Materials: $1,650 • Permits and inspections: $250 • Safety equipment and signage: $260 • Tools hire and delivery: $340 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Isaac

  • Take care. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.

    • Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Wollongong.
