Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in San Diego
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Acacia Park that will serve 181 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $650, and the remaining cost is $2,700.
It will serve about 181 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Materials: $1,550
• Permits and inspections: $300
• Safety equipment and signage: $410
• Tools hire and delivery: $440
