Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Mumbai
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Baobab health centre yard that will serve 91 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 91 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $240
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $105
