Let's build a free library and reading room together in Dehiwala
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $750 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $750.
It will serve about 459 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $750 goes:
• Materials: $520
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Tools hire and delivery: $95

It's all in the list in the story. materials is the big one at $520, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.
