Legal fees for Stephanie's wage-theft claim in Baton Rouge
Help Stephanie cover the fees of a wage-theft claim so She can stay with her family.
🇺🇸 Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States1,924 views
I'm facing a wage-theft claim. My hearing is scheduled for November, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $3,450. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at Baton Rouge Welcome Centre has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
The money goes to the immigration attorney's trust account and the court filing office. I'll upload receipts with sensitive details removed.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Certified translations and document copies: $210
• Attorney retainer: $2,550
• Filing and biometrics fees: $690
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

sending love. Hope this works out for you. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
So sorry you're going through this. I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
Wishing you the best. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out!
