Legal fees for Josiane's work-permit appeal in Guarulhos
Josiane needs $750 for filing fees and representation in a work-permit appeal before the April deadline.

I'm facing a work-permit appeal. My hearing is scheduled for April, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $750. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $750 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $460
• Filing and biometrics fees: $180
• Certified translations and document copies: $55
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $55
If you're reading this, thank you.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Josiane!
Attorney retainer is $460 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Happy to explain more.
This could happen to any of us. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Madina.
Wishing you the best, Josiane. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
