Leah's final semester of an electrical engineering diploma in San Diego
Leah is two terms away from finishing an electrical engineering diploma but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $3,850.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an electrical engineering diploma at San Diego Community College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $3,850.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,250
• Final term tuition: $2,200
• Exam and lab fees: $95
• Textbooks and materials: $305
Every share and every dollar helps.

So sorry you're going through this, Leah. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. God bless
Sending strength, Leah. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of San Diego
