Lavanya needs two washing machines and a dryer to reopen a laundry service
Lavanya has run a laundry service for four years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $500 will put it back on its feet.

For four years I have run a laundry service in Chennai. In October, floodwater took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $500 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $35
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $120
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $345
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

So sorry you're going through this, Lavanya. Hope you get there. After 17 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Dublin.
Hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Hialeah so I could bring a meal.

Hang in there, Lavanya. Small businesses are the heart of Chennai. Hope you're open again soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
Praying for you, Lavanya. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Moscow.
