Landslide in Mumbai: help Eastgate village rebuild
After the landslide, families in Eastgate village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The landslide hit Eastgate village on 31 July. My home was one of 81 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $210
• Roofing sheets and timber: $610
• Tools and labor for repairs: $180
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending love, Paresh. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
Best of luck, Paresh. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update!
