The electricity account is 2 months behind. Samir received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $100 is paid. He had never been late before an unexpected car repair. Samir called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available. The household includes an elderly mother, and going through winter without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
