Keep a roof over So-yeon's head in Gangnam

After a sudden layoff, So-yeon is 3 months behind on rent and has a 10-day notice to quit from the landlord.

When the restaurant closed in March, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,900. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, we must leave. I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done. Where the $1,900 goes: • Rent arrears (3 months): $1,150 • Late fees and court costs: $155 • Utilities in arrears: $240 • First month of rent as a buffer: $355 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - So-yeon
