Keep a roof over Hudson's head in Leicester
The closure of the factory left Hudson short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.
🇬🇧 Leicester, England, United Kingdom921 views
When my hours were cut in half in July, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,900.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $530
• Rent arrears (2 months): $1,200
• Late fees and court costs: $170
Every share and every dollar helps.

everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to San Jose so I could bring a meal. Greetings from The Hague.
Thinking of you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. It's not much but it's yours. God bless.
You're not alone, Hudson. Shared this with my family. My husband and I read this together. All the best.
Keep going. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.
