Keep a roof over Courtney's head in Macon
After a divorce, Courtney is 5 months behind on rent and has a final eviction notice from the landlord.
🇺🇸 Georgia, United States1,938 views
When my hours were cut in half in March, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $4,450.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by May, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $4,450 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $3,450
• Late fees and court costs: $260
• Utilities in arrears: $250
• First month of rent as a buffer: $490
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Thinking of you. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
this could happen to any of us. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
good luck, Courtney. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings.
Thinking of you and your family. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care
