Keep a roof over Bilal's head in Casablanca
A notice to vacate arrived last week. Bilal needs $1,000 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Casablanca.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 8 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,000.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $700
• Late fees and court costs: $50
• Utilities in arrears: $65
• First month of rent as a buffer: $185
With deep gratitude,
Bilal

Take care, Bilal. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Casablanca.
Best of luck, Bilal. Hope this works out for you. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Wishing you the best, Bilal. Hope this works out for you.
You're not alone. Shared this with my family. My husband and I read this together. Take care!
Stay strong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
